Summer

2017 continues with warm water temperatures, tons of baitfish schools, lots of variety with species biting throughout the backcountry here in Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River at New Smyrna Beach and shallow water fishing on the lagoon grass flats.

Most trips in the backcountry give up some surprise catches, like the couple juvenile Goliath Grouper we caught recently, and the Scorpion Fish we got a couple weeks ago. Along with the Redfish and Seatrout we regularly catch, it has been a banner year for Snapper.
