The Day started out slow not getting to river till 10am and with the north wind and the report from the marine shop that the Live baits had not produced any bass the day before for them ,they wondered why I would go .
The north wind makes the St. Johns run Backwards and makes the Bass shut down and by noon I thought that would be the case today without having a bite ! till I picked up the Steel Shad (gold Color) I caught 5 bass in 6 casts and proceded to catch 14 more by 4:30 that
Afternoon . and also a nice catfish that put up a good fight .
Once in a while one would hit the bait and not get hooked but most of the time they had both hooks and the bait in their mouth .
8 of the Bass where 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 pounds and the rest where 1 to 2 1/2 each.
All the fish were caught on outside edge of pads .
