The big news out of Beach Haven over the past week has been the very successful White Marlin Invitational Tournament put on by the Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Club. Captain John Lewis, a Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association captain fished the tournament on the "Insatiable."

Fishing on the "Insatiable" were the members of the Dock Box Deal Fishing Team. High winds kept them at the dock on Thursday, but Captain John spent a long day on Friday as he ended up 94 miles east of the Bell Buoy looking for a very elusive piece of Gulf Stream water. They did find some very clean water with scattered weed, but nothing productive.

On Saturday they headed south looking for another piece of Gulf Stream water. They located some promising water and managed to boat some yellowfin tuna and raised several white marlin. Unfortunately, neither the billfish nor the bigeye tuna cooperated to provide some scale worthy fish.

Captain John and his crew ended up with some nice tuna loins for the table and a very tired but happy crew which is already looking forward to the 2013 tournament.
