Lately the Florida summer heat has made fishing unbearable at times.

I have found getting an early start has been key.

Today I was lucky enough to have a couple of anglers that wanted to get it done early and get off the water.

It started as a snook trip but we changed up when I realized these guys were not going to eat.

I have been seeing a lot of sheepshead holding on the dock pilings around Johns Pass so that would be our focus.

My clients ended our morning trip putting four nice sheepies in the box in the 2 to 3 pound range. Many more were released.

Dock sheepshead fishing can make for some fun when you have to wrestle them out on light tackle.

Be shore to drink plenty of water this time of year.

It is HOT! HOT! HOT!
