We have been catching big king salmon on 7' med action spinning rods and jigs/plastics for the past week and it will only get better as the water cools down. 4-5" gulp minnows on 1/4-3/8oz jig heads has been the best technique. I drive around and look for baitfish on my locater. Once I find what Im looking for we cast and jig off the bottom. When the fish come in strong like they did this week you can stay on bait and fish all day most days. we have been fishing in 20-40 FOW, but the fish will move in as shallow as 2 FOW.

I still have plenty of openings for this fall!
