The past week has been awesome. We are cacthing big redfish everyday and many people have caught the largest fish of their lifetime. It is exciting to see these big fish fin and tail in 3 feet of water. Approaching these fish the proper way is important. Casting to the outside edges of the school will also help land one of these monsters. It is real important to lead the fish and make a good presentation. These fish did not get big by being stupid. What really makes hooking one exciting is the light tackle. We use medium-heavy Karma Rods with 4/15 Power Pro line and a 20 pound floruocarbon leader. Using cirlce hooks are also helpful to prevent gut hooking the fish. Once we have landed the fish we take extra care in the release to assure their safe return. I have been catching these fish for 13 years and some of them have been caught several times. It is an awesome way to fish. Sight fishing is great! Read more on the my website!
