Fishing out of Carolina Beach,N.C. Capt.Mike Dennis the Cape Fear Guide ran his first charter of the 2009 spring fishing season.
Kevin Price from Virginia chartered Capt.Mike to take his family inshore fishing, the young boys had never been fishing.
I fished Carolina Beach Inlet on a falling tide, with in minutes of anchoring the Pathfinder Bay boat, the Black drum started a great bite with multiple hook ups,the current was really pushing hard out of the inlet, making a tough fight on the light tackle Key Largo rods with Shimano Spheros 3000FA reels. It was really a great site to the young anglers catching their first fish, they were just thrilled, with every bend of the rod from the running black drum.A couple of red drum were caught measuring 17" fish were release,to grow a little more.
The young anglers ended up with a great catch of Black Drum, and a day of fishing memories, with the Cape Fear Guide.
