It's A Hot August and September (9/20/2012)
[Miami,FL] August 17th was the day for Andrew and his family to get out fishing. The first catch of the day was Andrew's first sailfish ever. Next came 25 mahi off a big board in 400 feet of water. Then Andrew caught his second sailfish ever. We added a huge bonito and then headed offshore where we caught another 25 mahi. We tagged and released 37 mahi and brought some home for dinner. Way to go Andrew.
Tarpon Time In Miami (2/22/2012)
[Miami,FL] The tarpon are back. We had great tarpon fishing in December and most of January, then they disappeared. Well I am glad to say that yesterday they were back. I hope they stick around.

[Miami,FL] The Holiday season has arrived with a bang. On Thanksgiving morning my nephew from Atlanta, Kevin Cote and I did a little fishing along the edge. We caught 3 nice mutton snappers, a small tuna, bonito, shark, a bunch of big blue runners and a beautiful tarpon.

[Miami,FL] Hello July 2009. Well almost. On June 29th our tough fishing spell went into trip two. This was the end of a short tough fishing run. We had a couple young men from here in town and after several good tarpon trips in a row the tarpon took the evening off.
June Offshore Fishing Report (7/04/2009)
[Miami,FL] What a great month June has been. June 5th we had Brian and his guest out fishing and caught so many kings and bonito that I lost count. We also caught a sailfish, a mutton snapper and a blackfin tuna.

Fishing Miami For Sailfish, Tarpon and Other Big Fish (5/05/2009)
[Miami,FL] March certainly roared out of town. We were blown out 7 days in a row. We did get out on the 27th in the evening with Bob and his European friends. They caught 3 tarpon from 75 to 110 pounds on live shrimp.
Hot Fishing Off Miami (3/30/2009)
[Miami,FL] Boy! March has lived up to it's reputation as a good fishing month although a bit windy. On the 4th we fished with Hank, Ron and Bob from the Washington D. C. area. They had a good day with 3 sailfish and 5 dolphin to 12 pounds.
February Offshore Fishing In Miami (3/09/2009)
[Miami,FL] Hey! I blinked and February is gone. Way back min January we finished the month with two trips with Pete and Ted. They caught a sailfish, 4 mutton snappers, a black grouper, 5 amberjacks, a couple bonitos, a gray snapper, 12 dolphin and a red snapper.
Great Bottom Fishing (2/02/2009)
[Miami,FL] December ended with great bottom fishing . On the 26th we had 7 mutton snappers to 13 pounds, a couple small kings, a cuda and an almaco jack with George Bubrick and his son.
High winds Are Bad For Swordfishing (12/11/2008)
[Miami,FL] We know why high winds are bad for swordfish. High winds make getting baits to the right depths for swordfish can make fishing very tough, plus the fact that 3 knot north currents against 15 knot north winds make for very rough seas.

[Miami,FL] We left off in our last report with Heather Harkavy catching a pending world record Almaco jack of 31.5 pounds. This fish was only 2 ounces off the 50 pound tackle record but is 9 pounds better than the standing junior female angler record.

[Miami,FL] The spring fishing has been pretty good, and we have several weeks left of this action.
Red Snappers Averaging 10 Pounds (4/16/2008)
[Miami,FL] What a wild week! We fished with the Della Monica gang on March 29th and 30th. Surface action was slow, so Joe ask us to try the bottom fishing. He sure called that shot. In 3 hours Saturday afternoon and 3 hours Sunday morning we caught 13 red snappers averaging 10 pounds. The biggest was 16.5 pounds.

[Miami,FL] Welcome 2008! The old year ended more like July than December weather. The new year is starting out like Alaska in stead of Florida.
What A Start To The Month (12/13/2007)
[Miami,FL] Our first day trip of the month was with Michael and Robert. They caught 6 sailfish, 10 dolphin, 4 mutton snappers, 12 small sharks and a king. Now that is the way to start a month.
Getting Cooler (11/05/2007)
[Miami,FL] Our next trip was with Don and Sandy. The mullet run was in full gear and we took full advantage of it. We ran the beach searching for mullet and their traveling companions. We found a big school of bluefish and caught them on 4 to 8 pound tackle and lures for a couple hours.

[Miami,FL] We opened snook season with a bunch of personal friends. Matt, April and young Tyler Tambor were joined by Capt Rick Morel for some late afternoon fun. They had a ball catching 9 snook and releasing 7 of these linesides. Their top fish were in the 20 pound class.

[Miami,FL] I have been having a lot of fun in July, and I hope you have as well. Would you believe I had to wear a jacket to fend off the cold air on 4 fishing trips this month. One day I needed a sweat shirt and a jacket till after 10 in the morning.
Government Cut Snook Fishing (7/15/2007)
[Miami,FL] June went out with a blast as Don and Sandy did a little afternoon angling. They had ask about wahoo on their last trip, so we started out trolling plugs at 8 knots along a sharp edge. It took 15 minutes for Sandy to hook up with her first wahoo. This frisky 17 pound speedster got the day off to a great start.

[Miami,FL] Boy did June start off rough. Of course May ended even rougher I guess. Well June has been a very good month for catching fish.
Big Fish in Bimini and for the Boys at Home (5/23/2007)
[Miami,FL] The last week has offered up some great fishing both here and in Bimini. We ran over to Bimini on Sunday and hooked up with a super bunch of guys from Wisconsin. We had 3 boats and 5 anglers for 3 days of fly fishing.
World Record Sailfish Caught (5/07/2007)
[Miami,FL] oe Capallano and his friends started this report with some great fish. Over 3 days they caught 5 sails, several dolphin to 18 pounds, a bunch of kings and bonito, a 34 pound jack crevalle, an 18 pound horse eye jack and a 28 pound blackfin tuna.
Spring Fish are big for Kids (4/10/2007)
[Miami,FL] Over the last month we did a lot of fishing with high winds. Now the weather is beautiful and we are still catching a few real nice fish.
A Lot Of Sailfish and Some Dolphin (3/11/2007)
[Miami,FL] We have had a lot of sailfish, some dolphin and kings. Bottom fishing has been a bit tough with an occasional mutton or grouper. We had one trip with a bunch of almaco jacks and then none the next trip.

[Miami,FL] January was a month of great fishing trips and even a couple slow ones, but I guess that is what makes us appreciate the good ones.
A Great Fishing End for 2006 (1/01/2007)
[Miami,FL] Say "Good bye 06" December of 2006 sure was a month to remember. We had a 3 day charter with the Damasceno boys starting on the 21st. The first day was too rough to leave the dock. The second was too rough to fish, but the 3rd day was great.
San Jose Fishing Adventure (12/22/2006)
[Miami,FL] We fished with Don and Sandy Blake in the afternoon of December 6th. We were trying to catch a sailfish for Don on trolled flatline 8 pound line for his fishing club. We raised 4 sailfish while trolling. 2 of those were so hot on the strip teaser that we had trouble getting them to look at the baits.

[Miami,FL] Boy! November is living up to it's reputation. Winds were calm on the first, then rain on the second. We all know how hard the wind has blown since then. We expect two things in November. One is great fishing and the other is windy weather. The good sailors will catch a lot of great fish.

[Miami,FL] We ended September with some good fishing. John Carmichael fished with us on the 25th and caught a bunch of nice dolphin, including a 30 pound bull which we tagged and released.

[Miami,FL] September started with a flight back from Cape Cod and a return to south Florida's great fishing. We fished with John Ortiz and some of his buddies on September 3rd. They had a good day of bottom fishing.

[Miami,FL] We fished for swordfish with Rick and his lady on Sunday night and had a swordfish swim through the lights and caught a good sized shark. Of course all was not lost as we had caught 6 snook , 2 out of 4 tarpon and 3 barracuda before heading offshore.
