Lake Conroe Fishing Report February 2010 (2/04/2010)
[Lake Conroe,TX] Black bass fishing has been only fair due to the below normal cold water temperature. Crappie fishing continues to be good in deep water weather permitting. Catfish fishing has also slowed due to the cold water temperatures. Hybrid activity is picking up on main lake points early and late and around the 1097 Bridge.

Lake Conroe Fishing Report (11/21/2009)
[Lake Conroe,TX] Black bass fishing has been fair with the fish holding around boat dock, riprap, jetties and other structure in 12 -15 feet of water. Crappie fishing has been outstanding all week with the bite early and late. The fish were in 17 to 22 feet of water. Catfish fishing has been outstanding in 16-20 feet of water. Hybrid activity has been fair with the fish starting to move to the points to feed when shad move in on the main lake and secondary points.

[Lake Conroe,TX] Lake Conroe Fishing continues to improve with the water temperature on the rise and the fish, including the shad moving to the shallow water. Black Bass, Crappie, Catfish and Hybrid fishing is great.

[Lake Conroe,TX] Black bass fishing continues to be great, crappie fishing slowed way down for most fishermen, catfish fishing continues to be good but a lot slower this week than in the past few weeks. Still not much activity with the hybrids and white bass.

[Lake Conroe,TX] Black bass fishing continues to be very good, crappie fishing has picked up, catfish fishing continues to be outstanding in both shallow water around the docks and in deep water on baited holes. Drift fishing has been paying big dividends for catching big blue catfish. Hybrid fishing has been fair with a few being caught mixed in with white bass schooling on points and sand bars early and late.

Fish Are Not Happy With The Cold Weather (2/10/2007)
[Lake Conroe,TX] Many fishermen have been finding dead and dying fish in the Lake for several weeks. The fish have been identified as tilapia. I contacted Mark A.Webb, District Supervisor, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Bryan Inland Fisheries Office and he advised me that the fish were blue tilapia an illegally introduced exotic species that do not withstand cold temperatures.

[Lake Conroe,TX] We have had some weather the past few weeks. Water stained; at or near pool. Black bass are good on tequila sunrise spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on live bait and chartreuse striper jig and trolling. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stink bait, cutbait, liver, and shrimp.

[Lake Conroe,TX] Weather has been making fishing a very challenging adventure the past week. Rain and cold wind have made the lake difficult at best; however, the tough minded fishermen have been catching some real nice fish.

[Lake Conroe,TX] Lake Conroe December Fishing Report With Christmas just around the corner, traffic on the Lake has been very light. Cloudy days with lots of fog and a little shower every now and then has kept most of the fishermen home; but, the fishing has been great. The Lake is just below pool and there is plenty of good fishing water on all the shorelines.

Hybrids On The Move (12/19/2006)
[Lake Conroe,TX] Hybrids feeding early on shad early near the dam area of Lake Conroe. Watch the birds. The Lake is just below pool and there is plenty of good fishing water on all the shorelines. The water temperature continues to fluxuate in the high 50's to low 60's with the Southeast wind warming the water the past few days. The wind has been calm to 5-10 making fishing very easy in all areas of the Lake. Early and late fishermen have found the lake very smooth to slick.

[Lake Conroe,TX] Black Bass are feeding in the new grass and cover next to the bank that has grown up while the lake was low and has now filled to pool. The water is clear and the fish move off pretty early to 8 to 11 feet of water. Texas rigged worms in plum, plum/blue, watermelon red and black have been good baits. The fish on the points are on the edge of the hydrilla beds. Shad colored crank bait have proven to be successful on the rocks and along bulkheads.
