Just days before New Year's, steelhead fishing on the Chetco River in Oregon continues to produce the kind of results we see during peak season (Jan.-Feb.)

Yesterday, drifting from Ice Box to Social Security Bar, we landed two chrome-bright steelhead side-drifting tiny roe clusters cured in Pautzke's natural-colored BorxOFire. We also used pink and orange Puff Balls.

One of the steelhead was caught near the mouth of Elk Creek and another just above the mouth of the North Fork.

Bank angles are catching fish at the North Fork as well.

Dress warm, it's been near freezing at daylight and warming to the mid-50s by afternoon.
