With the cold fronts that have finally gotten to N.Ca. have brought with them just what you'd expect. The fish are there, but the bite is very lite. Out of the 20+ fish caught, I felt only one small tick. Feel for your rod load up and then "reel set" the fish. Best luck on tubes, with Spotted Bass to 3 1/4 lbs. The few Large mouth caught were small (1 to 2 lbs.) and sluggish. Spots seem to enjoy the colder water and give a much better fight this time of year.

Drop shot brought no bites, even on the top two bait colors(arron's majic & morning dawn), while the tube bite was all they seemed to want. Water mellon with red flake & Motor oil-black flake produced the most fish, with a couple caught on blue/black with blue flake (both small). Fish were on the mud banks that have steep dropoffs add in a rock or stump down at 15' to 40' and you'll find fish. I did'nt try this, but a "spiked senko" on a dead stick might do well. Right now is "thinking mans" weather.Fish slow, with lite weighted dart heads(1/8 to 1/4 max.)Reminder the slot limit(12"-15") and you'll bag a limit or two. Good Hunting
