Delacroix report:

Great weather for fishing this AM. Light breeze out of the west and partly cloudy skies. The honey hole pattern from last week faded this morning. We hit the island first off and picked up a few nice trout and then it was over. Plan B - run outside and work some rigs. We hit Black Bay and it was nothing more than a light chop on the water. Due East till we get to the mid sound rigs. Beautiful green saltwater, have not seen that in a while! We played around the big rigs catching a few here and there, but nothing steady. The trout wanted tightline plastics on 1/4 ounce jigheads and ran 14-20". Deeper into Breton Sound we found fresh, dirty water and a motherload of shrimp boats. I think that the water was dirty already, but the trawling activity did not help. We hit several rigs and did not get a nibble. Back to the clean water we went and hit wellheads. We tried at least 10, catching a few on each except for 2 that we did not get a bite on. These trout wanted the artificial slow rolled along the bottom and were up to 5 lbs. We saw a few flocks of birds outside, but they did not seem to be on anything. Probably had a full belly from chasing behind the shrimp boats all day! Hit a redfish hole on the way in and and found a decent bite on reds up to 15 lbs. The reds wanted the artificial cocahoe and live cocahoes under a cork. A good day on the water, but we had to work for the box today. I guess last weeks trips got me spoiled - we covered 85 miles today! Good tides are predicted for this week, but some rain potential moves in later in the week. Good luck out there!
