Bryan, Sumeet and Mauricio from Naples, FL and Guy from Fort Lauderdale charted the Top Shot Sportfishing charter boat team to do some deep sea charter boat sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore.  We started out trolling with two #8 plainers down and four surface baits.  We had action right out of the gates, as we started our trip - the first two lines in the water got him and the anglers caught 2 Kingfish.

Thereafter, I headed north in 150 ft of water going along the reef and fishing over wrecks and rock piles.  We saw more action on the deep lines catching another pair of Kingfish and a few Bonitos on the surface lines.  We totaled 7 Kingfish and 2 Bonitos.

We then headed offshore looking for Mahi Mahi's with a spread of 5 surface lines and one deep plainer line.  While heading to deeper waters, we caught two Barracudas which were released.  Working offshore from 500 ft. out to 800 ft. of water, we came across Mahi Mahi's and caught 4 of them.  We continued fishing the weed lines and looking fore birds - thirty minutes later we caught another two nice Mahi Mahi's.  We reset and continued fishing.  Right and left long rigger lines came down and a double header with two large Mahi Mahi's - the cow weighing 15 lbs. and the bull weighing 38 lbs.

For the last hour of the trip we went back inshore of 150 ft. of water and caught another six Kingfish, all of which we let go because we had our Kingfish limit.  Everyone had a great trip with solid action and fresh fish to take home.

With a total catch of 15 Kingfish, 2 Bonitos, 6 Mahi Mahi's and 2 Barracudas, it was time to head back to the dock.  The anglers retired into the AC salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 33316.  At the dock, our mate, Mark, filet out the fish.
