Pictured is young Andrew Sallusto who joined us aboard the Marlin My Darlin for a charter while in Ft Lauderdale fishing with his family. As expected there are Kings and Bonito along the edges of the reef line about a mile offshore. Also we continue to see large Hammerheads with some regularity out in 300 to 400 feet of water.

Summertime brings Mahi-Mahi front and center all along the coast of Florida and Ft. Lauderdale Deep Sea fishing can be very good for these colorful and welcome fish. For those of you who have experience and your own boats we have been doing well in the vicinity of 800 feet of water which has been the area of the western edge of the Gulfstream often as of late.

We left Fort Lauderdale inlet that morning not knowing that we would catch a 750-850 pound giant tuna. Most exciting fish we have ever caught!
Fort Lauderdale Dolphin Fishing Improves Tremendously by Steve Souther (6/18/2014)
Fishing for Dolphin (Mahi-mahi) around Fort Lauderdale has improved tremendously this week. It has been an absolute blast going off shore a ways and finding large beds of seaweed. While the seaweed is tough to deal with as far as keeping the baits clear, it’s worth it when you see Dolphin racing out from under those beds and heading for your rigged baits.

Reasonable chance for some rain on almost any afternoon. Lots of still mornings with only a slight onshore breeze in the afternoons. Comfortable sea conditions on most days for those with even the weakest stomachs when it comes to getting offshore.
Fish Variety Makes Our Day by Steve Souther (6/14/2014)
Each fishing trip we run has an element of surprise in it as we begin our day. We never know what we will encounter as we put our baits out in the water. Just as our guests, we have hopes of great fishing but what kind of fish and how big will they be?

Our weather has returned to bright and sunny days and the temperature is pushing into the upper 80s. We have the A/C units running for those that want to duck inside the salon on the Marlin My Darlin to get a break from the sun and cool down.

Fantastic Fort Lauderdale Bottom Fishing by Steve Souther (6/05/2014)
Something we do often, to entertain our guests while fishing here in Fort Lauderdale, is drop live baits on some of the deep wrecks and reefs here off our shore. Fort Lauderdale and Broward County have a fairly extensive artificial reef program.

Sport Fishing Trips This Week by Steve Souther (6/02/2014)
May is one of my favorite times of year to fish here in Fort Lauderdale. Almost everything we catch is migrating one way or the other and each day is different. We truly have no idea what we might encounter from day to day.

Some of our guests that fish with us in Fort Lauderdale just seem to be lucky and that certainly includes Rudy. Lucky at fishing is always good.
Ft Lauderdale Deep Sea fishing / near shore Kings by Rick Brady (5/29/2014)
Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing continues to offer a variety of species for our anglers. While we love to head offshore in search of Mahi-Mahi and maybe get another crack at a nice Blue Marlin the close to shore action right at the third reef has been strong.

Fishing in Fort Lauderdale is just one of the many attractions of things to do while visiting us. Many families come for the sun, the beaches and to generally relax and have some fun. Ft Lauderdale Shark fishing and more in May by Rick Brady (5/13/2014)
Ft. Lauderdale Shark fishing continues to be very strong for those wanting to tackle something of substantial size and power. This has been a strong shark season and there are still large ones out there. The photo is of a large Thresher Shark and his signature long and powerful tail caught and released at boat side of the Marlin My Darlin.
Ft. Lauderdale fishing for Ronald McDonald by Rick Brady (5/11/2014)
Two to four foot seas greeted us today as we headed offshore for our Ft. Lauderdale fishing charter. Slightly on the choppy side but certainly very fishable and spirits and hopes were high. The trip today was part of an exceptional event sponsored by Southwest Airlines with the Ronald McDonald house the purpose and recipient. 23 boats cleared the inlet and set their lines for the day’s fishing.
