sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore.   We started the morning charter trolling the reef in 120 ft. of water using a trolling spoon on one deep planner line and a sea witch on the second deep line.

Fifteen to twenty minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore.   We started trolling with two planners with sea witches on both planners in front of a double hooked Bonito strips, along with four surface baits.

The final catch of the day was a really nice Wahoo, which was also caught on the deeper sea witch line. The angler did a great job in reeling in the Wahoo and brought him to the side of the boat. Joe, our mate, gaffed the Wahoo and put him on ice.

Terry and Pete Born, along with their friends, Kathy and Carol, chartered the Top Shot Sportfishing charter boat team to do some deep sea charter boat sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL.   The conditions were cloudy and overcast with easterly winds, which are my favorite conditions for Tuna fishing.

Our spread of baits were 4 surface Ballyhoos and two deep plainer lines with sea witch and Bonito strips.  We headed in and of out the reef structure, working over good areas which held bait.  The first strike we had was just on top of a rock pile structure, and it hit the long deep plainer bait 6 times before finally getting hooked.

 We started trolling by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale in 120 ft of water 1.8 miles from shore.  We put out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite.  We also put a dead Bonita bait 100 ft. down and another 200 ft. down on the bottom.  Our target species were Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Shark and Grouper.

We started the trip with kite fishing in 150 ft. of water, 1.8 miles from shore north of Fort Lauderdale.  We put out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite.  The first couple of baits in the water got attacked right away - within the first 5 minutes - catching one Kingfish and missing another one.

The best method of fishing has been trolling the reef from 100 ft. to 475 ft. of water.   We left the dock and within 15-20 minutes we were in 120 ft. of water, 1.8 miles from shore south of Fort Lauderdale.
