Fishing is great in the backcountry from Aripeka to Chassahowitzka. Red fish are holding in the back bays with a rocky bottom, live bait is producing the best action with a few coming on lures. Live green backs, pin fish are very good live baits to use or fresh dead mullet and lady fish will also get a red fish to eat. Best bite is from the middle of the incoming to the high tide. Snook are holding in the same area's and around the creek mouths and mangrove points, live green backs are the way to go the bigger the bait the bigger the snook. A moving tide is best for a good snook bite. Trout are working there way out of the backwaters to the shallow flats, MirrOlure 17mr in the 808 color is my go to trout search bait. Or a 1/8 to 1/4 ounce jig head with a little john white soft bait is another great way to go. Cobia are here look around structure, grass flats and sting rays, a pin fish or green back for bait. Tarpon will be showing up very soon.
