Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 9/15/08

After a spectacular Spring & Summer Fishing Season on Kabetogama and Namakan, the angling pressure on the fish has let up.

The fall anglers are reaping benefits of fall fishing with the walleyes and sauger bite remaining strong.

Jig and minnow or artificial lures should be your favored presentation. Use artificial at depths between 8-20' and jig and minnow down to 30-35'.

Northern pike quieted down some, expect them to go after sucker minnows. Check out your favorite weedy bays as the weather continues to cool down.

Smallmouth hitting anglers baits with a vengeance, they must know the season closed and they must be released.

In talking with anglers, it looks like fall fishing will just get better.

Bird hunting has started out extremely slow, wet weather and heavy foliage favors the birds.

Bear hunters s till at it, less hunters, less bears moving, however, they are still attracting attention.

This is the time of year that this area is truly a sportsmen's paradise.

Hope to see you soon,
