Lady Pamela 2 Fishing Charters fort lauderdale
This morning Darin and I had a full charter, with six people on board the Lady Pamela II. As soon as we got out of Port Everglades inlet we started trolling with strip baits, both on the surface and with planer boards. The kingfish and bonito were really biting well so everybody on the boat was able to catch a fish before we went to sharkfishing.
We moved the boat out in 400 feet of water and put out nice fresh bonito for bait. In less than an hour, angler Thomas was sitting in the fighting chair doing battle with a brute. We knew he had a big fish, but we had no clue as to what species. After a 45 minute tug-of-war we finally caught sight of a beefy 7 foot tiger shark. It was a cool sight, as that's the first tiger shark that I had ever caught. Thomas got the fish to the boat, we got a tag in it, took some photos, and off he went.
Today we participated in the Saltwater Shootout tournament right here in Pompano Beach, Florida. We ran six miles south and fished 18 lines all day long, live baiting with sardines, goggleyes and threadfin herrings. We caught lots of kingfish (25), one blackfin tuna, and a mahi-mahi. We ended up with 120 lbs of fish, but didn't win any money. It sure was a fun day though!
The Lady Pamela IV fished two half day charters in Fort Lauderdale, an 8 am-12pm trip, and a 1pm-5pm trip. We landed three sailfish in the morning trip using live baits while kite fishing. On the afternoon charter we already knew that kite fishing was productive so we went straight back to the kites. Afternoon sailfishing can be somewhat hit or miss, but we hit it big this afternoon as we caught two sailfish and a huge blackfin tuna. Great job guys.
