Holy Cow! What a week and weekend; with picture-book weather--80 degrees on Sunday. Anglers found cooperating walleyes and saugers most of the week, with a let-up on Sunday.

Anglers are a happy bunch these days; Kabetogama and Namakan have been kicking out Walleyes by the number--incredible numbers.

All the designated groomed snowmobile trails on Kabetogama, Namakan, Sandpoint and Crane Lake are in great shape and provide access to great fishing holes within a close proximity to the trail.

Anglers had a good time catching a variety of species in near normal weather for a change.
Both ends of Kabetogama, East and West provided at least some action. A few reports out of Namakan appear the same.

A wonderful week of normal winter weather has proven to be what anglers and snowmobilers want.
The ice on the main lakes is finally safe and very little slush to contend with. Anglers can now venture to any of their favorite holes and set up.

Well we had quite a week of temperature fluctuations. We experienced a 60 degree swing, -30 degrees last weekend and 31 above today, Sunday, January 27, 2008.
Most of the focus is now on walleyes, as pike have moved out of the shallows for the most part.

The walleye and its related species seem to favor either side of 30’. A couple good accessible areas at the entrance to Ash River from Kabetogama. The deep structures out from Lost Lake and reef edges in the 30’ range.
