We are in full swing for Spring fishing. Earlier this month we had a great bite of Mahi-Mahi. Some of the reports had fish as big as 60 lbs being caught real close to shore. There is also numerous smaller fish. Keep in mind that these fish have a lifespan of approximately 5 years and a 5 lb fish today may be 10 lbs in 2 months. The Mahi have been caught anywhere between 100 and 1000 feet. These fish will be the primary target for most offshore anglers during the coming months. There has been a great last push of Sailfish with Blackfin Tuna on the edge. Typically the fish are being caught on the edge either flying kites or drifting live baits. The reef fishing has been stupendous specially at night with anglers catching their limit of Yellowtail Snapper and some Mutton Snapper on the Deep ledges and wrecks.
