Sorry about not writing any reports for a while but things have been rather busy around here for the last few weeks. The fishing has been fantastic the duck hunting even better, deer hunting has been the only slow thing.
We have been catching lots of trout with a few redfish under the birds when the wind allows. The best baits have been Tidal Surge Split Tails in Glow chartreuse and American Midnight on ¼ once heads. The birds don't want to hold on the fish long so watch for the shrimp when you come up on a flock of gulls working. Hoginars have been by far the best bait for reds will fishing the birds.
I did have a afternoon trip today with a friend (James) and his son-in-law(John) and daughter(Lynnsie). The lake was like glass and there were flocks of birds working over most of mid lake. We caught lots of small trout but did manage to cull about a dozen keeper trout in less than 2 hours of fishing. The better fish came from flocks of gulls working over trout along the north revetment wall.. The only draw back was that the tide is still very low, we had to trim the motor up to get out of Logans Park. The water Temp was 57 degrees.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. This holliday weekend looks like is going to be a good one to be one the water.
THERE IS ONE OTHER THING I WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO THIS REPORT. DURING THE HOLLIDAY SEASON, IS A GOOD TIME TO REMEMBER THE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE DEFENDING OUR FREEDOMS IN ALL BRANCHES OF THE ARMED FOURCES. SEND A PACKAGE OR A LETTER TO SOMEONE SERVING. THANK THEM FOR THE SACRIFICES THEY AND THERE FAMILIES ARE MAKING FOR OUR COUNTRY.
