Please be careful on Weiss Lake with the low water level !

Bass fishing is slow. The Bass are deep on the ledges on a winter pattern.

Stroking a 3/8 or 1/4 ounce brown Stanley jig with a Zoom Chunk trailer in pumpkin seed color is producing some fish. A Carolina rig with a 6 inch Zoom Dead Ringer or a Gene Larue Salt Craw in Junebug or pumpkin seed is catching fish also.

Remember to fish slowly, the water is cold and the slower you fish the more bites you will get.

Little River is producing a lot of Spotted Bass , use a 4 inch Zoom Ring Worm in Smoke Glitter color or Pumpkin Seed color, fish the river channel ledges above JR's Marina.

Little Spring Creek is also producing some good catches from 30 to 60 keepers per day with plenty of short fish, Spider Trolling 1/32 ounce JR's jigs in 3 to 7 feet of water.

The upper Coosa river is producing some fish in the old tree tops along the main river channel above Riverside Camp Ground using minnows under a slip float 4 to 10 feet deep.

The Chattooga River is also producing some good catches using a Float and Fly technique 3 to 6 feet deep around the stumps on the edges of the old river channel.

Striper fishing is great The stripers are in the main lake below the cause way in Cedar Bluff down to the dams in Leesburg. Look for the fish on flats and points near the river channels, also a lot of fish in Yellow Creek. Watch for the gulls to circle and dive into the water, move close to the area, then cast a Gizz 4 crank bait by SMACK TACKLE www.smacktackle.com to the area for some fast action

or a chartreuse or white 4 inch Sassy Shad or curly tail grub on a 1/4 ounce jig head. Trolling the same jigs where Little River and the Chattooga River meet and on main lake points is working great also. Anytime they are generating power, fish the rocks on either side of the dam and the 2 points at the mouth of the canal. The White Bass and Yellow Bass are schooling on top early and late in the main lake, look for flats near the old river channel near Yellow Creek. Use a White or Yellow Rooster Tail or a Little George for lots of action.
