Fishing Report 9/22/08

The month of September has been Out of Control! In between Tropical Storms and Hurricanes we have had to pick our days due to high seas. For the folks that have been braving the weather the storms did a few good things for us once the wind switched to the Northeast. First it brought an early push of Sailfish and Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) which kind of gets us in check for the Winter Season. Right after the storms there where excellent reports of Mutton Snapper on the deep reefs. As September comes to a close the annual Mullet run is starting to take place. On the beaches and Biscayne Bay Canals you will start to see Snook and Tarpon terrorizing the fish. Bait of choice will be finger mullet or imitation mullet plugs. With all this in mind it wont be long before we start getting cold fronts pushing through and the offshore scene will heat up.
