Lower Madison is heating up by
Brian McGeehan (9/19/2011)
[Madison River] The lower Madison is heating up as water temperatures cool. The river in this section is normally too warm for good fishing from July to August, but really turns on in the fall. Fishing big streamers or crayfish patterns brings in the big fish, but blue winged olive hatches on cloudy days can produce good dry fly fishing.

Yellowstone River Winter Fishing by
JB Klyap (1/30/2010)
[Yellowstone River] The icebergs offer good vantage points-slippery casting platforms. The river is lower than normal, easily waded. When there's normally 1 fish per square foot...what happens when the river comes down 10 times the norm...you do the math, I am tying on a bug and casting first!

Crane Meadow Lodge, Twin Bridges, MT Fishing Report for 9/13 through 9/19/2008 by
Rick Grassett (9/22/2008)
[Southwest Montana] I was in Twin Bridges, MT last week hosting a group of fly anglers at Crane Meadow Lodge (www.cranemeadow.com) on what was our 7th trip there. The timing was just right this year with the weather being perfect, frost on the ground or mid 30’s in the morning, warming to the mid 70’s with almost no humidity. Unlike several other years when water flow was an issue, we had plenty of water this year due to a good snow pack last winter and spring.

Yellowstone River Fishing by
JB Klyap (5/25/2008)
[Yellowstone River] The run off scares most fly fishers, even some flash in the pan guides, however the few in the know can tell you that the fishing is never bad on the Yellowstone.
Winter In Craig, Mt. by
Scott Yetter (2/12/2008)
[Missouri River] Febuary 11th.....
It is winter in Craig, Mt. But the weather for this week is looking better. Predicted highs this week are Friday and Saturday with a temperatures reaching the mid 40s. That combined with some cloud cover, should get some trout looking up at midges.
