Happy New Year to all Anglers past present and Future and we appreciate your continued patronage of Quepos Sailfishing Charters and the reports that you are all a part of at www.queposfishing.com The 2011 Fishing Season upon us here in Quepos Costa Rica with delighted anglers with Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado and Tuna still in daily reports here. The Kennedys spent two days offshore this weekend Friday and Saturday and both days released a Marlin, 3 Sailfish and Big Dorado. Wesley Wilson earlier this week released 3 Sailfish and a Big Dorado they had a nice Striped Marlin on for a bit but spit the hook but a nice try for sure. Christmas and New Years week was very busy with lots of boats going out every day. The fishing reports for our clients the whole month of December were really spectacular with Marlin just about every day and the Sailfish numbers increasing slightly except for around the full moon where the bite was exceptionally slow and almost non existent for some captains and then like flicking off the light switch, the bite was back on two days later which can happen around the moon. Anyhow we anticipate a terrific bite in 2011 and for those of you who may be interested in tournament fishing, Quepos plays hosts to the GIFT Fly fishing tournament in January and the Costa Rica Classic in March so call today to be part of the action with proceeds benefitting the Boomer Esiason Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis. 800-603-0015 for more info on registering
