As we fish on the First day of February here in Quepos Costa Rica we have been seeing lots of Marlin everyday. January 31 Frenzy had a Marlin, client Doug Brent released his first Sail and had a 100 lb. Yellowfin Tuna. January 30 Clients Monique and Eric fished Inshore and had 5 Rooster bites and Monica got the prize Rooster, They also had Snapper and Mackeral. Jan 29 we fished with a new boat here in Quepos and the Marlin and Sailfish were jumping everywhere out there. I have not ever seen so many marlin at this time of year. The waters are renownedly calm and it looks like glass offshore. Fishing has been about 20-25 miles out. Clients fishing Reel Deal on the 28th released a Marlin and 4 Sails. Steve Smith and crew on Pez Espada released a Marlin and a Sailfish. On the 27th clients Rick Davies and Claude Christiano on Pez Espada released a Marlin and a Sailfish while the Smith group on Wahoo had 2 Sailfish and some nice sized Mahi Mahi. Hope the fishing stays like this. Just about every boat in the fleet out all this week.

The Annual Harry Gray Fly Fishing Tournament took place this week with 62 Total Fish on the Fly. Frenzy placed 1st with 16 Total. Sea Lady placed 2nd with 12 Total, Moonwalker 3rd with 10, Golfito Sail #4 with 7 and Gran Lucas with 6
