Summer time is here and the temp is getting hot along with the fishing. The jetties have been hit and miss. One day the wind is blowing strong and the water is green/clear but it is rough. The next day the wind isn't blowing and the water is calm but dirty. If you are lucky enough to hit the right day the fishing has been fantastic. The best bait has been glow/chart bass assassin in 5" with a 3/8 jig head bounced off the bottom. There has been a pretty good bite in the ship channel. Fishing over shell in 5-7 feet of water has produced some nice catches. The Berkely Gulp swim minnow in white has been the best color. The party I had for friday had 24 trout to 5 pounds. Had a party out Saturday that had 15 trout to 4 pounds and 13 flounder 4 1/2 pounds. The birds are still working in the lake with some nice fish coming off topwater. There are alot of gafftop and lady fish mixed in with the school trout. The bigger fish are on the outside of the flocks of birds. The water in the gulf is heating up and the tripletail are starting to move in. If you would like to book a trip please give me a call or visit my website at www.sabineoutdoors.com
