28/6/10 There was a fine fresh 5lbs Grilse caught on the fly by Mr. Judge Jean-Baptiste, and finished the day off with 3 fine Sea Trout, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton and fishing out of www.Butlerarms.com and considering the conditions they did well, because there was not much wind and what wind was there was from the SW, on the evening shift, Mr. Martin Lanigan O'Keeffe caught a fine 8lbs salmon on the fly, with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicudy. Amount of rain fall 12.9mm, max air temperature 17.8c. 29/6/10 Lough Currane was on the slack side, but at least some anglers did see a bit of action, first in the striking zone was Mr. Cooper with 3 Sea trout fishing with his Gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer and @ mikegdwyer@gmail.com and staying in the Seatrout department Mr. Brendan O'Gorman caught a 1.5lbs sea trout with his gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and in the trolling department Mr. Bob Priestly reported to me that he caught a couple of juniors. Wind West light to calm this morning light to fresh for the rest of the day and there was reasonable cloud cover, max air temperature 20.3c 30/6/10 Rain drops keep falling, and its about time Lough Currane had some liquid refreshment, and in the words of Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr, the Commeragh is slowly on the rise, and just for the record Mr. Bob Priestly was also telling me this evening, that his jam jar had of a inch of rainfall and still rising. Now to today's facts as given to me by my Noble anglers, first in the striking zone, a guest fishing with Mr. Neil O'Shea caught one junior, staying in the junior class, Guests fishing with Mr. Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com caught four Junior's, now I head for the Mouth of Commeragh, where there was some fine action, Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr, caught 3 Sea Trout all in the 2lbs class and in his words, all on the fly and all in the Mouth, Mr. Judge Jean-Baptiste fishing out www.butlerarms.com caught a 6lbs specimen Sea trout, with his Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton Snr, in the Mouth of the Commeragh. In the trolling department, Mr. Bob Priestly caught two Juniors, and last but not least, Mr David Wallace and Mr. Tim O'loughlin caught four sea trout from the Junior class up to 1,5lbs fishing with their gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com And just for the record there were quite a few boats out, and some anglers haven't recorded their catches, that's if they caught anything. Wind S fresh to strong, and strong enough that some boats left the Lake by lunchtime. Sea Trout on the run, Mr. Frank Donnelly was telling me that last night there was a great run of Sea Trout going through Waterville Bridge, and Frank was saying it's the best they have seen in years, so that is great news. Amount of rainfall 37.6mm, max air temperature 17.4c.1/7/10 Where do I begin, I will tell you, Lough Currane and the trolling department, it was A Father and Son combination of Mr. Ted and Nigel Robertson, caught 7 juniors with there Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.Lakelandshouse.com now for a mixture of fly and troll, Mr. Colin James and Mr. Jim Young, fishing out of www.Lakelandshouse.com caught two Sea Trout on the fly and 7 Sea trout on the troll, ranging from the junior class up to 2lbs with their Gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer and @ mikegdwyer@gmail.com and Mr Donal Eustace caught two juniors, with his Gillie Mr. Junior Scully. Now we head up stream to the Commeragh River where it was like Times Square, and for good reason there was one almighty flood coming down the Commeragh, but that didn't deter My Noble anglers from catching my Noble Fish, first in the striking zone, Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr caught 3 Sea Trout all in the 2lbs class and lost a fine Salmon, staying with the Commeragh and catch of the Day goes to Mr. Chris Blackham of Cork, because he caught a fine 9lbs12ozs Sea Trout, on the Black Birds Fancy, and was officially weighed at the Waterville Angling Centre, after getting his sea trout weighed in, Chris headed back to the Commeragh and caught a 7lbs salmon, now we head to Lough Derriana, where Mr. Tim Loxton and Mr. David Wallace fishing out of www.Lakelandshouse.com caught 15 sea Trout and 15 Brown Trout. Wind SW fresh, with reasonable cloud cover, and just for the record Lough Currane was on the dirty side after the big flood, amount of rainfall 9.0mm, max air temperature 18.2. 2/7/10 Cork Angler Tim O'Connor caught a fine lightening fresh Grilse on The Butler Pool, now we head down Stream, to Lough Currane, where there was some good action, I will start in the Mouth of the Commeragh, there were two Grilse caught on the fly by the Prince, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O'Sullivan of www.Vincentsfishing.com and the action didn't stop there, because Mr Bill Rushby, caught a fine 8lbs salmon and a Grilse on the fly, now we go to the trolling department, Mr. Jamey Bomford, caught a fine grilse and four Sea Trout, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com also in good form with four juniors, were clients, fishing with Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com now for a mixture of fly and troll Mr. Colin James and Mr. Jim Young caught 3 Sea Trout, one of which was caught on the fly. Clients, fishing with Mr. Vincent Appleby caught two Juniors and lost a salmon on the troll, also in good form was Mr. Brian Macnaughton with two Sea trout caught on the fly, ranging from 1.5lbs to 2lbs. Now to the hired out boat department. Darren O'Sullivan fishing out of www.Lakelandshouse.com caught 7 Sea trout ranging from Junior class up to 1.5lbs and also caught a fine Brown Trout 1. lbs Now we head across the Lake to the north side, where Donegal Angler, Mr. Michael Bonner, caught a fine 7.5lbs Sea Trout, fishing in a hired out boat from Waterville boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com now we head up steam to the Commeragh River where there was a fine Salmon caught by Mr. Kevin Brain of the Waterville Angling Centre and of www.kbfishingireland.com also in good form on the Commeragh River was Mr. Avulak Hitmiangsong, supreme commander and head Chef of the Huntsman restaurant. now we head further upstream, in the words of Mr. Paul Hayland. Hello Vincent, you brought me luck! I met you in the tackle shop on Friday morning on the way to Derriana. I Caught a half a dozen Juniors, two Sea Trout to lbs, two Brownies to 2 lbs and a Grilse to top it off. Day of days!!! Amount of rainfall 3.4mm, 17.6c. 3/7/10 Mr. Colin James, caught a fine 5lbs Grilse and his good friend Mr. Jim Young caught two Sea trout, ranging from 2 to 3lbs fishing with their Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, now for a mixture of fly and troll, first to the fly, Mr. Jamey Bomford caught a fine 6.5lbs Specimen Sea Trout on the fly and caught 6 juniors on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea, staying in the Sea Trout department Mr. Brian Mcnaughton caught a fine 2lbs Sea trout on the fly, Mr Gerry O'Sullivan, caught a fine Grilse on the troll, Mr. Jimmy Young and Mr. Ted Robertson caught four SeaTrout on the fly with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, in the hired out boat department and of www.Lakelandshouse.com Mr. Nick Bell and his good friend caught 6 Sea trout, ranging from the junior class up to 2lbs, and staying in the hired out boat department, Mark caught 6 Sea trout on the drift, ranging from, juniors up to 2lbs, now head up stream to the Commeragh River, Mr. Mike Teahan, caught four Sea trout, staying with the Commeragh, Huntsmen Chef, Mr. Jo O'Dwyer caught a fine Grilse. Wind SW fresh and overcast with the odd light shower, amount of rainfall 0.2mm, 17.5c. 4/7/10 Lough Currane was on the wild side this morning, but it didn't deter anglers from pontificating, and first in the striking zone, with two Juniors caught on the fly, were Mr Mark O'Halloran and Mr. Pat Kennedy, fishing out of www.Lakelandshouse.com and staying with Lakelands, clients fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, caught 9 Juniors on the fly. Now for a mixture of fly and troll, Greg and Martin Sutton of the UK caught four Juniors, 3 on the fly, 1 on the troll, Mr. Colin James caught a 2lbd Sea Trout and Mr. Jim Young, caught a 4lbs Sea Trout and finishrd the day off with a 3lbs Sea Trout, both Anglers were fishing with their Gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer, Kilkenny Angler, Mr. Tom Nugent caught one sea trout on the fly with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, Now we head for the Commeragh, Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr caught a 6lbs Grilse. Wind SW fresh to strong and over cast, with the odd light shower. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie/Guide and the Waterville Fishery. No Spin No Fly's just facts.
