27/7/09 I Will start this weeks report in the poaching department, because I came off my motorbike @ 50mph so I have a bit of the OO7 Bond syndrome, shaken but not stirred, now to the fishing facts, our manger Mr John Murphy of www.Loughcurrane.com is reporting some fine catches around the Waterville Fishery, I will begin on the Commeragh River where there were good baskets of Seatrout taken by anglers plus there were a few Grilse taken, now I will go down steam to the Big Lake/Lough Currane, where two young anglers, Eve and Sean Testell fishing with their Gillie Mr Tom O'Shea and @ tomsfishing@eircom.net caught four Seatrout, also in excellent form was Mr Dan Murray who caught 15 Seatrout with his Gillie Mr Frank Donnelly of www.lalelandshouse.com and staying in the Seatrout department there were also good catches by Mr Phil Horan, Mr Joe Long, Mr Ben Gibney, they caught 24 Seatrout up to 2.5lbs and our Manger is also reporting that other boats did reasonable well, plus the best of the action is in the evening, on the best Flies front, Mr John Murphy is reporting that the Daddy patterns are working the best. Wind SW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover with the odd light shower, amount of rainfall 2.2mm, max air temperature 17.1c. 28/7/09 Mr Mike Phelan caught 3 Seatrout with his Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, and Mike was telling me that they rose a good few more. Wind S light with light rain on and off for most of the day. Amount of rainfall 3.2mm, max air temperature 16.6c. 29/7/09 Again I will stay in the poaching department, and the facts are as follows, I will start on the upper Lakes on Lough Cloonaghlin where, David Forde and Derry Gibson, caught five Trout to their boat and staying with Cloonaghlin, Mr Will Finn and Mr Joe Barry caught 12 Trout in two sessions, now I will go downstream to the Lough Currane where one angler caught a Grilse, and in the Seatrout department Mr Denis O'Sullivan caught a fine Seatrout of 5lbs also in good form was the king of C&R, Angler/Gillie Mr Roger Baker and of www.Cloghvoola.com and his guest, caught a good basket of Seatrout, and Mr Mark Houlihan and Mr Whitehaed caught 20 Trout to their Boat, also in good form were Mr Phil Cronin and Mr Donal O'Reilly, who took 8 Seatrout and capped the day with a fine 5lbs Grilse, next in the striking zone is Mr Steve Campbell who caught 8 Seatrout up to 1.5lbs, and last but least in the Seatrout department and catch of the day goes to Mr John Buckley and Mr Denis Cronin who caught six Seatrout to their Boat and John finished the day, with a magnificent specimen Seatrout of 10lbs.Now we head further downstream to the famous Butler Pool and of WWW.Watervillegolflinks.ie an Angler caught a Grilse on the fly. Wind WNW light with the odd light shower, amount of rainfall 1.9mm, max air temperature 17.2c. 30/7/09 There were a few nice sea trout but no real rod benders wind WSW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 2.2mm, max air temperature 17.6c. 31/7/09 Made another massive flood this morning with storm force winds from the SW, so as you can imagine all fishing stations on lake side were at a standstill, I know the feeling. Wind as all ready stated, amount of rainfall 43.mm, plus the amount of rainfall for the month of July was 255.5mm, today's max air temperature was 16.7c. 1/8/09 Lough Currane was on the dirty side, but saying that most of the good Seatrout hot spots wouldn't have been effected. Wind WNW light to fresh, amount of rainfall 0.4mm, max ait temperature 16.8c. 2/8/09 Light rain all day with a fresh southerly breeze, what you call a typical August Bank holiday weekend, yes I hear you saying stop complaining and get on with the facts and they are as follows, on Lough Cloonaghlin, Mr Joe Barry and Mr Will Finn caught 5 Seatrout, now we will head down stream to the Commeragh River where there was some good action, first in the striking zone, is Mr Dermot Devereaux with two Seatrout, up to 2.5lbs, and also in in good form was Mr Peter Kiernan with five Seatrout in one session, and our manger Mr John Murphy was also reporting that there were few Grilse caught by other anglers. Now we will head further down stream to the Big Lake/Lough Currane, where Mr Bill Rushby, who caught 4 Seatrout and a Grilse with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy and last but not least a guest fishing with Mr Tom O'Shea and @ tomsfishing@eircom.net and @ www.Oshealoughcurrane.com caught a Salmon and a few nice Seatrout. Wind as all ready stated, amount of rainfall 15.3mm, max air temperature 15.2c.That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery. No Spin No Fly's just Facts
