10/8/09 There were a few Seatrout caught but nothing that would satisfy my Noble Specimen Committee and @ www.cfb.ie Wind NW light with showers throughout the day. Amount of rainfall 3.1mm, max air temperature 16.6c. 11/8/09 Mr John Murphy of www.loughcurrane.com reported that a guest fishing in a hired out boat from www.Lakelandshouse.com caught 11 Seatrout. Amount of rainfall 1.2mm, max air temperature 16.9c 12/8/09 In the words of our manger Mr. John Murphy Esq. and of www.Loughcurrane.com there have been some excellent Seatrout fishing in the past few days, and here are the Seatrout results, first in John's striking zone, is Mr. Kevin O'Sullivan and Mr. Joe Murphy with a fine catch over two sessions, taking six Seatrout from 5lbs up to a specimen of 7lbs which was sportingly returned, next in the striking zone is Mr. Collins and his son Tadgh with a fine catch of 10 Seatrout all in the 1.5lbs class, and last but not least, I mustn't forget our Manger's fine Seatrout of 5lbs, now to the upper Lakes because John is reporting some good catches from anglers on the evening shift, back to the present there were a few Seatrout caught but no real rod benders. Wind WNW light with light rain on and off throughout the day amount of rain fall in the last 24 hours 6.4mm, max air temperature 17.0c. 13/8/09 Again I will head straight for the poaching department and Loughcurrane.com because our manger Mr. John Murphy is reporting that anglers in a hired out boat from WWW.Lakelandshouse.com caught 5 Seatrout and for the rest of we Anglers no comment, now I will head across to the river Inny because there was a fine grilse caught by Mr. Ray Burns. Wind SW light and overcast with light drizzle at times, amount of rainfall 0.5mm, max air temperature 17.6c. 14/8/09 All eyes are on the two-day, 2nd Lough Currane Seatrout competition, I will give you all the facts tomorrow. Anglers' that weren't participating like my good self, no comment. Wind SSW light and overcast with misty rain throughout the day, and heavier rain coming in this evening, amount of rain fall 7.6mm, max air temperature 17.4c. 15/8/09 Here are the facts on the 2nd Lough Currane Seatrout competition there were 34 Anglers manipulating their flies and between them they caught a total of a 109 C&R Seatrout over the two days, and the winner with a total of nine Seatrout caught, was Mr Brendan Walsh of Kinsale Co Cork and his prize for winning the 2nd Lough Currane Seatrout competition, a 19 feet Davison fibreglass boat, and the Winner for the longest fish of 52cm was caught by Mr Eugene McCarthy, and John Buckley of Emerger Tackle came 3rd with 7 Seatrout to his rod so congratulations to all the winning anglers, and after, they all headed for the famous Butler Arms and @ www.Butlerarms.com fishing Hotel and had one great Dinner and party. Now for fish of the weekend and that goes to, Billy Guilfoyle of Ennis Co Clare who caught a magnificent 6.5lbs specimen Seatrout yesterday, fishing with his good friend Dennis Exton. Wind WNW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Amount of rainfall 16.5mm, max air temperature 17.8c. 16/8/09 there were a few Seatrout caught but no real rod bender.
