31/8/09 Again I will start this weeks report in the poaching department, I got today's facts from our Manger Mr. John Murphy Esq. and of www.Loughcurrane.com there was some good action on Lough Currane today in the Seatrout department, catch of the day goes to Mr. Mike O'Dwyer and his guests, with 10 C&R Seatrout to their boat, and Mr. John Murphy was also reporting that Mr. Liam Ellis of Cork also saw some good action. Wind SSW light and overcast. amount of rainfall 5.6mm, max air temperature 18.6c. Just for the record there was 270.0mm of rainfall for the month of August. 1/9/09 There were a few Seatrout caught on the Big Lake/Lough Currane, but the real action was on the famous Butler Pool and @ www.watervillegolflinks.ie they say you can't keep a good Gillie/Guide, out of the head lines, and today was a perfect example of that, because Guests from Colorado USA fishing out of Waterville House and @ www.watervillegolflinks.ie with their Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer caught Three Salmon on the fly and their weights, 13lbs, 4lbs, 3lbs, Wind WNW then veered W light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 6.6mm, max air temperature 16.5c. 2/9/09 Rain drops keep falling on my head, or singing in the rain if you like, yes you have it, it has made another flood this morning. In the Seatrout department, there were a few caught but no real rod bender. Wind NNE then veered NW this evening fresh to strong with the odd heavy shower. Amount of rainfall 25.0mm, max air temperature 14.9c. 3/9/09 All quiet on the SW front, wind NW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover with the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall 7.1mm, max air temperature 15.1c. 4/9/09 just a few Seatrout caught, but as I have said many times, no real rod benders. Wind WNW light to fresh with the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall 2.4mm, max air temperature 13.2c. 5/9/09 There was one Salmon caught on the fly by a guest fishing with their Gillie Mr Vincent O'Sullivan and of WWW.Vincentsfishing.com and on the Seatrout front some boats reported up to 10 C&R Seatrout, and just for the record I got these facts from our Manger Mr John Murphy and of www.Loughcurrane.com Wind WSW light to fresh and overcast, amount of rainfall 0.2mm, max air temperature 15.6c. 6/9/09 Well I am still singing in the rain or put it this way I would have been this morning, because it has made another big flood, followed by a strong South to Southeast wind blowing, and as one Gillie said to me on the phone, its not fit be out, and he had no argument from me, but Mr. Pat Mahony of Co Cork would beg to differ and with good reason, because he caught him self a 8.5lbs specimen Seatrout on the fly. Wind as already stated, amount of rainfall 18.1mm, max air temperature 16.7c. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery. No Spin No Fly's just Facts
