31/5/10 There was some reasonable action in the fly department, and King of the fly, goes to Mr. Stuart Cox because he caught a fine Salmon and two fine Seatrout with his gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, and in the C&R department Mr. Mark Dorman caught a fine 5lbs Seatrout with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly and staying with the Sea Trout, I see our Manger Mr. Trevor Stafford is reporting on www.Loughcurrane.com that local gillie Mr. Michael O'Sullivan of Watervilleboats@gmail.com also caught a Sea Trout. Wind SE light and overcast with light rain at times, with heaver rain coming in this evening, amount of rainfall 6.1mm, max air temperature 17.3c. 1/6/10 That supreme specimen Sea Trout Hunter Mr. Dave Ecclestone of the UK was in good form again when he rose and caught a magnificent 8lbs specimen Sea Trout on the drift, and Dave was telling me that last Sunday he came a member of the C&R club, when he sportingly put back a 2lbs Seatrout, and staying with the Seatrout, two anglers fishing in a hired out boat from Waterville Boats and @ Watervilleboats@gmail.com caught two small Seatrout and two small brown trout and they said its not worth reporting, well that may be so but as I said to one of them those small fish are just as hard to catch as my Noble Specimen Sea Trout. Wind W then veered NNW light to fresh with bright sunshine throughout the day, air temperature 16.4c. 2/6/10 Lough Currane is in badly need of liquid refreshment, so as you can understand my Noble game Fish is rather lethargic, but at least some anglers did see a bit of action and I start in the trolling department, Mr. Roy Smith in a hired out boat, from Mr. Tom O'Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net caught a fine 2.5lbs Seatrout but fish of the day goes to Mr. Macel Guillou of the UK with a Seatrout in the 4lbs class, caught on the fly at the Ledge with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O'Sullivan and @ www.Vincentsfishing.com Wind S then veered SSW for a while and veered back and veered again this evening into the SE light to fresh throughout the day, max air temperature 18.2c, water temperature off the Bank of the Church 18c/64f. 3/6/10 Lough Currane was on the wild side, fisherable this morning but come lunch time, the majority of boats headed for the high stool and the Lobster Bar, even though the odd boat did see the day out, and at present no reports of any real rod benders. Wind SE fresh to strong and overcast, amount of rainfall 0.1mm, max air temperature 18.7c. 4/6/10 All the fishing head lines go to Mr. Macel Guillou of the UK, and for good reason because he caught a magnificent 9lbs specimen Sea Trout on the fly out at the Black Rocks, with his gillie Mr. Vincent O'Sullivan and @ www.Vincentsfishing.com and staying with the Sea Trout, a guest caught a fine 2lbs Seatrout on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea and @ www.oshealoughcurrane.com now to the Salmon department, a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy caught a 5lbs Grilse on the troll. Wind SW light with reasonable cloud cover at times, amount of rainfall 0.2mm, max air temperature 17.8c. 6/6/10 there was some Great action in specimen Seatrout department, first to hit the head lines with a great Seatrout of 8lbs 4ozs caught on the fly, out at the Black Rocks, was Mr. J Hoppenot of France fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, in the hired out boat department a guest fishing out of www.Lakelandshouse.com also caught a specimen Seatrout of 8.5lbs and there was also a fine Seatrout 4.5lbs caught by an angler also fishing in a hired out boat from www.Lakelandshouse.com and in the Salmon department Mr. Hubert of France caught a fine 8lbs 8ozs on the fly while drifting for my Noble Seatrout. with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea and of www.Oshealoughcurrane.com and just for the record both Bob and Neil's clients were fishing out of www.cliffordbandb.com Wind W then veered NNW with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 1.7mm, max air temperature 16.9c. 6/6/10 No reports of any great catches on Lough Currane, so I will head for the higher lakes and Lough Cloonaghlin where Mr. John Walsh was telling me that he caught 8 Brown Trout ranging from 0.5lbs to ¾ lbs and that doesn't surprise me because Cloonaghlin is a great Lake for my Noble Brown Trout. On the weather front on Lough Currane it was flat calm first thing this morning, but once the wind got up it was light to fresh from the west then veered NW and variable, and this evening it went into the SW light to calm with the odd light shower in the afternoon, and light rain this evening, amount of rainfall 0.5mm, max air temperature 16.4c.That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie/Guide and the Waterville Fishery.
