Today it was -8 degrees at launch time but that couldn't stop us from launching my new 2009 Wilie drift boat to get in on some mid winter action on the Upper salmon River.

We fished float today with Trout Beads and Back Trolled Hot Shots for brown trout and steelhead. The fishing was very good despite the cold temps.

Not too many fisherman around today due too the cold weather.I prefer to fish mid week in the winter months. Most of the traffic on the river is weekends.

We are expected too have some warmer weather over the next few days, this should increase the fishing activity on the river.

Plenty of fresh fish to be had and alot of Brown Trout still in the river.

Try the mid to lower part of the river too avoid the crowds.
