Fun Friday on the Beach by Rory Rorison (4/28/2013)
I finally got to take out the Jim Walther group for a day of fishing fun. After several cancelations because of nasty weather we thought Friday would be the day. The wind was blowing a little harder than forecasted, but the fish did not mind.
Late report for Thursday from the Beach by Rory Rorison (12/17/2012)
Late report for Thursday from the Beach. AG Davis came in from Houston to scratch his fishing itch. Things started off a little slow with the cold water, but as the morning went on the fishing heated up. The Drum and Heads were very cooperative early and once the sun warmed things up some the Trout turned on.
Late report for last Friday from the Beach by Rory Rorison (11/06/2012)
I had the pleasure of having the Renshaw group, Brian, Terry, John, and Stan in for a Trout slaughter. We were treated to ideal conditions with a lot of fog. We stayed close and fished in Lake Borgne making 3 stops with lots of action at each. Campo’s specially trained live shrimp under a cork did the damage.
Fun Thursday on the Beach by Rory Rorison (10/06/2012)
My buddy Brian and I headed out on a pretty day to put some fish on ice and show him some areas to fish with his son in his boat. We stopped by Campo’s for gas and bait then went to the Lake Robin area. The tide was high and falling hard, but the water not very clean. Our first stop produced a few very nice Trout and a couple Drum before the small Trout took over. We made a few moves picking up a few fish at each stop, mostly Trout and Drum.
Shark week at the Beach by Rory Rorison (8/22/2012)
Last week may have been Shark Week on The Discovery Chanel, but I did not need a TV to see the action. Thursday I had the Jim Walther group and we headed deep into the Sound looking for big Trout. We found more sharks and trash fish than Trout, but the Trout we could get past the sharks were very nice.
Wet, but fun Friday and Saturday on the Beach by Rory Rorison (7/24/2012)
Wet, but fun Friday and Saturday on the Beach. Friday Todd Dumont brought three of his friends from New Jersey to show them how special our fishing is down here. The guys could not have picked a much worse day. The rain started as we pulled off and the wind with it. The crew was gung ho, so they suited up with rain gear and we pressed on. We started out in the marsh looking for Reds and the guys put 6 pretty Reds on ice in the rain.
Friday and Saturday report from the Beach by Rory Rorison (7/10/2012)
Friday and Saturday report from the Beach. Both days I had the pleasure of fishing with Scott Fankhouser, his dad Mike and hid fishing buddy Mike. They spent the night down at Capt. Frank’s lodge. Friday we were greeted by a westerly breeze that made the ride to the Sound a little bumpy. Our first stop was mostly catfish, but at the second stop the Trout were flying in the boat. The guys had a blast and filled up the ice box quick.
Good day Friday at the Beach by Rory Rorison (6/30/2012)
Today I had Robert Perilloux and three of his sons on the boat. We headed out to the Sound and got on several bites, but the trash fish, Ladyfish, Spanish, Bluefish, and Sharks were bad. Lots of action, but not much for the box. We moved over towards Black Bay and got on a decent Trout bite and started to fill the box.
Late reports from the Beach by Rory Rorison (6/08/2012)
Monday I had the pleasure of fishing with Jeff, David, and Jason. The wind was blowing as it has been, but we pounded it out and headed out to the Sound. The first rig we stopped by was covered in boats, so we move over to the next one. Capt. Jonathon waved us over and we anchored up not far from him. Once we got the Campo’s live shrimp in the water, it was on.
Late report for Friday from the Beach by Rory Rorison (5/08/2012)
After a stop by Campo’s for their famous live shrimp we headed out to Eloi and got on a good bite of some nice Trout. Our action was cut short at 77 Trout by some guys nice enough to pull up right on top of where we were fishing and drop anchor. From there we headed out toward the Sound and got a call from Capt. Kerry and he was finishing up on a good bite. We slid in as he slid out and it took a few minutes to get the fish started again, but once they did it was on.
Good Friday report from the Beach by Rory Rorison (4/09/2012)
I had the pleasure of fishing with the Matt Fontane group. On my boat I had Matt and his wife Lisa, along with two of their kids Lidia and Pierson. Capt. Frank ran the rest of the group consisting of Brandon, Devon, Lee, Rebecca, and Alex. Conditions were not so good that morning. A front blew through the night before and the wind made it too rough to get outside to the Reds and Heads we have been on. Good thing was the water had not all blown out.
Breton Sound Meat Haul by Rory Rorison (2/09/2012)
I had Grady Erwin and his two sons wanted to get out to the Sound and catch a bunch of Sheepshead. The conditions look iffy. The wind forecast was 10-15 and a front with rain was on the way. We left the dock with fog and some breeze blowing. I decided to stop short in the marsh and look for some Reds. We made a couple of stops, but only managed to put two Reds in the box. The tide was low and falling so I decided to give going outside a shot.
Monday Trout haul at the Beach by Rory Rorison (12/21/2011)
Monday Trout haul at the Beach. WT Myers brought down Bill, John, and Ed for some of our spectacular winter fishing. The water was low and still falling as we headed over to the Lake Robin area. We made our first stop in Bayou Batola. Fishing with Campo’s live shrimp on the bottom the guys put some good Trout in the boat. The bite looked like it was really going to turn on, but it faded out as the tide did with 30 Trout and a couple Reds on ice.

Good as it gets at the Beach Monday by Rory Rorison (11/22/2011)
Yesterday I got to take my father in law JC and my daughter Izabella fishing. It was real foggy as we pulled from Campo’s, but no problem for the radar. We headed over to the Lake Robin area and only picked up one Trout at our first stop. Our second stop did not produce much more except a couple nice Trout and a good Red that Izabella caught. From there we headed to a lagoon that I caught them in Friday and it was the right move.

Fun day with the girls at the Beach by Rory Rorison (10/25/2011)
Sunday I had the rare pleasure of taking my daughters Elizabeth and Izabella fishing along with my niece Sydney. My girls love to fish, but our schedules (school, work, charters, and weather) rarely line up so we can hit the water together. We headed over to the Lake Amadee area and found boats in the main spots I wanted to fish, but that did not matter since the plan B spots were full of fish too.

Great day on the Beach yesterday by Rory Rorison (10/12/2011)
As predicted the winds were strong as we left Campo’s, but usually is with these guys. The wind kind of follows Brian around, but so do the fish. We made one stop around Lake Amedee and that was all it took to over fill the box.

I had the pleasure of fishing with the Renshaw Group of Brian, Terry, Chris, Kenny, and Stan. As we left the dock things looked calm, but the buoys said it was blowing outside. We made our way on out to Eloi and got on the leeside of an island. It did not take long at all for the first cork to go down.
Got a chance to fish with the Old Man again by Rory Rorison (7/30/2011)
A few years ago my dad went in the hospital for a simple procedure that changed everything. Long story short four long years, lots of close calls, and a lung transplant he was able to come see me and spend some time on the water.
Report for the John Kellum group from the Beach by Rory Rorison (7/29/2011)
John brought his sons down for a day of Trout fishing. We started off in Bay Eloi and bounced around a few rigs picking up a few fish here and there, but lots of small fish junk would not leave us alone. With the winds calm and the water slick we hit the Sound and fished a few on the deeper rigs.
Regan Leopold Group by Rory Rorison (7/29/2011)
Ran a trip last week taking out part of the Regan Leopold group. I picked the guys up at the camp and we ran straight out to the Sound with the live well loaded with Campo’s live shrimp and croakers. Our first stop produced a few good Trout till the teeth fish and monster Drum took over.
