with all the rain and high winds .the smallmouth bass are biting . so far this season. casting tube baits along rocky shoals in (15 to 25 ft) . along with drop shotting minnow baits,in deeper water ( 25 to 38 ft). both patterns are producing nice size smallmouth. gravel patches in skinny water (5 to 8 ft) are a key target when twitching a jerk bait . emerald shinners for live bait are producing nice smallies as well. the bigger females are holding in deeper water. staging, getting ready to come in and spawn.
