This weeks trips brought young and old together for switch/spey rod instruction and subsequent trophy trout action. Deep water drifts with quick jerk fly action triggered some fantastic strikes and hook-ups. Noodle rod gear with sinking lines and long leaders got some Atlantic Salmon flies down "fast and deep" for full drift presentations. Some large mouth surprised us with violent "takes" and long runs before bringing to hand; bass from 2-31/4+ lbs. Hatches at first light saw some dry fly takes on rainbows averaging 14-17 inches; mid afternoon/evening hatch realized pan fish with black midge and mosquito flies in size 14 getting top billing.

Drift boat comfort and ease of fly delivery made the trips safe, comfortable and allowed some napping mid day. Raison-oatmeal cookies made a hit with everyone-hard to believe applesauce instead of butter could taste so good! Photos to follow with next report...
