The Yakima HullRaiser kayak rack (retail $119) will do it all and save you some money if you plan to attach it to Yakima base roof rack cross bars or Inno Racks & Thule Racks square load bars.  Alternatively you can use a set of Yakima Mighty Mounts (sold separately; see accessory add-ons below) if you ever plan to connect the regular Hull Raiser model to a factory installed car rack system.Carrier uses a specially engineered J-cradle design that accepts virtually any kayak and supports it from the stiff, side area. And unlike kayak racks that transport the boat flat, the HullRaiser conveniently frees up cross bar space for additional Hullraiser or attaching other gear carriers. Two heavy-duty straps and a pair of bow & stern tie-down straps all included.Yakima HullRaiser is compatible with virtually all kayak sizes and shapes including river-whitewater, tandem, sea-ocean, recreational, touring kayaks etc.Effectively cradles and protects your kayak with premium soft pads.Because kayak is carried on its side, it leaves more space on your base rack cross bars for attaching additional HullRaiser or other gear carriers.Includes two heavy-duty straps with padded buckles for secure transport.
