(click for larger image)This blind eye salmon hook is Number 7 of 25 in a set created by Dave Paris for Charlie Chute back in the early 1990s. This set was rejected for being too small. These are very unique due to the barbless point - no other barbless hooks were produced by Mr. Paris. This set features the tradmark concentric relief Mr. Paris used on his hooks. The purpose of this concentric relief was to reduce the amount of twisted gut needed for display flies and to create a very small head. Mr. Paris produced hooks during the same period as Gene Sunday and before Rob Reinhold. These hooks are perfectly suitable for either collecting or tying display flies. This set of hooks are large. They were created as 8/0, but in actuality are closer to a fat 9/0 or even 10/0. There is a 1" line in the image to give scale. If you choose to tie on these hooks, protect the finish with PETE plastic (#1 recycling symbol - found on bakery products). Only 25 hooks were created in this set. Numbers 1 through 5 are no longer available. Due to the slight variations between hooks in this hand-shaped process, the hook you see here is the hook you will receive. Each package is numbered and retained in the packaging during the scanning process. These are the largest hooks ever produced by Mr. Paris.Currently being released are numbers 6 through 10.Payment for winning bids is required within three (3) days of auction end. Shipping is on the next business day following receipt of payment. Shipping is via USPS Priority mail and tracking numbers are provided. Shipping is at actual cost, no handling fees added.
