Jigging Rod 6ft 30-60lb Alps Custom guides *22lbs Drag*
Current Bid: $ 179.00

This is a custom built 6 foot 30-60lb, 16 ounce, Jigging rod ...  . This outstanding rod design was developed with the assistance of Jim Weber of Boneyard Baits in Homer Alaska ..... This rod was designed over the past two and 1/2 years with a lot of design changes and testing .. You would not believe the size of some of the halibut caught on these rods. We believe it to be one of the finest jigging rods built anywhere ...

From the gimbal up ..  note ,,this butt cap is and upgrade from previous models ..... this is a new rubber butt cap gimbal ..it has a mushroomed shape so you can use it in you belly .. this will reduse the damage done to your stomach compared to the aluminum gimbals .. The end of this cap is slotted so you can use it in your fighting belt .. the best of both worlds ..

The rear grip of this rod is Sharkskin in a custom diamond design... Sharkskin is tougher, lighter and smaller in diameter then foam .. it also will give you better hand to blank feel.. the diamond shaped design will fit under your arm with more comfort and less bulk.  It wont get slick when wet and if yow would like a little more texture to this grip .. just take a piece of sand paper and rough it up.   .. the rear grip is 15  inches long from the reel seat up to and including the gimbal. We found this to be about the optimum length for the 6 foot jigging rods. From the rear grip we go to the Fuji Palm Support reel seat. This reel seat is considered by many  to be the finest design reel seat manufactured for jigging ...

The fore grip is a triangular EVA foam grip we have had manufactured exclusively for BaR-BaR Tackle, to our specifications, it is custom shaped to fit the front of the reel seat and transition to the blank ...We found the triangular fore grip to be the perfect option to achieve outstanding stability with your rod. With the triangular fore grip, you will find you will no longer have the issue of your rod twisting and turning in your hands as you fight your fish.

The guides are from Alps .. they have 316 Stainless Steel frames and Zirconium rings .. the Zirconium rings are extremely hard and smooth .. manufactured for braided lines .. .  These  guide rings are one of the most advanced ceramics available today.

The rod blank is a 30-60lb graphite / eglass blank  manufactured exclusively for BaR-BaR Tackle by Batson Enterprise .. Batson is well known for there outstanding Rainshadow blanks. This blank is much like the Rainshadow RCLB  blanks or like the Calstar Grafighter blanks .. it is a graphite / eglass blend .. the bottom 2/3s of the blank are mostly graphite ..light, strong and sensitive the top 1/3 of the blank is mostly eglass .. faster, more forgiving and extremely durable ... simply and outstanding rod blank .. This blank will handle up to at least 22 lbs of drag .. i put some pictures of a rod built with this blank holding  22 lbs of weight. As you can see there excellent clearance between the rod blanks and the line with 22 lbs of weight ..I personally fish with 20 lbs of drag when fishing for YFT ... This rod weights in at a very respectable 16. ounces ... I wrapped this rod in black and silver .. it has a BaR-BaR signature fancy wrap of silver foil thread and black thread between the first two guides ..

SPECIAL ORDERS are welcome  ... Rods may be wrapped in several colors including .... Royal Blue, Red, Aquamarine, Burgundy, Green or Electric Blue metallic thread ... we can also build you a rod with the regular Fuji reel seat with out the palm support ...the suggested color for the trim is silver or  gold.

Most special orders will be shipped with in 14-17 days, delays are dependent on component availability. You will not need to pay for special order rods until the rod is ready to ship. These rods are crafted right here in the USA by BaR-BaR Tackle. We will place your name or boats name on the rod at no additional charge.
