Montgomery Wards Sea King Model K700 1107A - 7 H.P. Clinton Engines Outboard Motor this motor is a recent acquisition from an estate auction.. it has good compression but have not tested for operation.. the small hole in the shroud was accidentally done by me this morning when the 7 h.p. walk behind weed eater accidentally hit it with string..the lower unit has slotted holes both sides that seems to me should have a grommet or something covering them to keep oil from leaking? they might be vent holes but am wondering what's the deal?..the carburetor along with inside the shroud along powerhead exterior was full of mud dobber nests.. the choke is opening and closing the flapper but no doubt has dirt and would most probably need thoroughly cleaned... the reverse forward grear shift lever seems to be going through the motions or at a minimum engaging but can't tell if they will be 100% operative.. the FAST SLOW START throttle control lever is missing knob but also readily goes into these 3 positions and is not seized up...I don't understand how this motor is rated at 7 horsepower since it seems lighter than most 7 h.p. outboards I've encountered... selling as parts motor but you have real fine compression that is not locked up and not sloppy weak feeling either..the nameplate states: MANUFACTURED BY CLINTON ENGINES CORP. MAQUOKETA, IOWA U.S.A. MODEL K700 1107A SERIAL NO. 441073 TYPE NO. 60 27270R which I believe designates a 1960 year of manufacture..
