Like all of my J&J TACKLE lures this piece was made more then 15 years ago.....and has been in storage ever since.....it is new/unused and in an unopened package............

Rigged Eel.....an11" J&J TACKLE eel....rigged on a pure tin eel squid.

Model number: J-38R11; Color Yellow back.....blue/pearl belly.

This 11" eel is rigged on the J-38 eel squid....The J-38 squid weighs approx. 2 1/4 ounces.....overall weight is more then 2 3/4 ounces.

The 11  inch J&J TACKLE signature eel is my personal favorite....before there were plastic eels.....we would search long and hard.....looking for...potting....and fishing for just such  eels.....

The late (GREAT) Russ Wilson.....a life long friend used to call them "cupcakes"......because according to Russ....that is how large fish thought of...and treated them.......They swallow them as if they are cupcakes.....Other old timers called them "shoe string" eels.....regardless of the name.....they are deadly.

The J-38 Eel Squid is a very special piece.........as anyone who has ever cast a rigged eel knows it is very difficult to cast it a great distance.....especially into the wind.....due to the nature of the lure (the same is true for casting a real eel in a tin squid).

Consumers and fellow fishermen asked John Chiola if he could do anything about this...the result is the heavy (2 1/4 ounces) J-38 Eel Squid. The J-38 began life....as a tin squid....intended to imitate full bodied bait fish........John modified the design, shape, and weight......the result is the J-38.......a squid with a deep keel and big wide wings......to give it unbelievable lift.......It can cast long distances.....ride high at slow retrieves......and will stay in the water when trolled.......a versatile and productive piece....and a very beautiful piece as well......

Use it this Season............or add it to your collection.....either way you cannot go wrong.
