Rigged Eel J&J TACKLE 16" Rigged Eel J-42R NEW in pkg For Sale

New and unused..........like all J&J TACKLE lures this lure was made more then 15 years ago.......it has been in storage ever since. ........The plastic bag/package is cloudy and shows it's age....so I removed it from the package in order to photograph it for this posting......I returned it to the package after taking photographs......you can see a photo of that as well......

Rigged Eel.....one of the very first of the J&J TACKLE COWKILLER rigged eels, rigged on a J-42 Eel Squid.

Model number: J-42R

This 16 inch cowkiller eel is rigged on the J-42 Eel Squid......The J-42 Squid weighs a bit more then 1 1/2 ounces......overall weight is more then 3 1/2 ounces.

The color is Solid/translucent dark red/burg.......this is one of the first of the third generation J&J TACKLE cowkiller eels...notice that there is no J&J TACKLE imprint on/in the side of the plastic body.

The COWKILLER line of lures was made at the suggestion of longtime friend Gary Caputi, among others.........initially intended as a trolling lure.....we were amazed to find that many fishermen cast and retrieved these beautiful lures......a lighter weight J-42 was quickly brought on line.....to compliment the heavyweight J-44.

While originally designed as a trolling lure.....Intrepid surf casters quickly bought up the J-42R and used it casting from beaches and jettys........so this lure can be trolled or cast and retrieved.........

This lure was sold and fished successfully on six continents......catching countless varieties of gamefish.......fishermen in Greece, England, Italy, South Africa, Australia, Japan, and of course the United States to name just a few made significant catches with this lure.....dozens of photos and letters from around the world were sent to John Chiola extolling the virtues of this rigged eel.

A truly special.....and VERY rare piece.
