There's been a great King Mackerel bite from 90-120. At low light hours, line is getting pulled out and drags are screaming. The sound the reel makes when one of these things is on the line is always exciting. Live Sardines or Blue runners are key for success, but they have been eating dead bait as well. We are having lots of fun catching these schoolie size kings on lite spinning gear. Sailfish have been cruising the ledge. We have been getting a hookup here and there.

Watch out! the sharks are everywhere on the ledge! We have lost a few nice ones to sharks. Get your fish to the boat fast.

Bonitas are here! Shallow and deep its like an invasion! These things will give you a work out. We have been catching some really big beefcake bonitas that will work out your arms. Rainbow runners have been out there in abundance as well. Catching them on lite spinning gear is always fun, and rewarding as the make a great meal later on.

The dolphin bite has been fair the fish are scattered from the ledge to 1,000 feet. We have been catching a few peanuts here and there trolling. We have been finding the dolphin around surfacing schools of skippys.

Bottom fishing is good on the ledge! We have been catching Amberjacks, Yellowtails,

Muttons, Porgies, Triggerfish, Kingfish, and a Cobia here and there.

Its in the heat of summer that fishing is hot. July is always a great month for a variety of gamefish. Theres so much going on its hard to cram it into a report. We still have a few open dates in July. Visit www.gettinluckyfishing.com to schedule a date. See you on the water.
