We went on our first long-lining trip of the season today and pulled several nice fish. We did the best on ledges adjacent to deep water. The fish do not seem to be on our flats where we traditionally like to long-line. Of course, this is relatively early in the season and the water temperature is still only 47 degrees. Look for the fishing to really improve as the water temperature climbs into the lower fifties during the next few weeks. We were using deep-diving thundersticks running in 20-25 feet of water. Live shad is also producing a mixture of stripers and white bass.
