The Firefly - December 2008 TPO Fly of the Month
Here is a killer fly on rainbows. It's been whacking them like crazy for the last few months. I have been fishing some very heavily pressured fish and it has been deadly.

3 Zebra Midge Variations - February 2009 TPO Fly of the Month
Three variations of the Zebra Midge. These are two minute flies that are easy to tie and take lots of fish... even on hard fished waterways.

Barr Cranefly - January 2009 TPO Fly of the Month
This is a deadly pattern for a cranefly. Craneflies are found on nearly every trout stream that I have fished. They are a very important food item especially on the Pennsylvania streams. I have also had great luck tying them larger on western rivers as well. I had a great few days on the Madison River last August using them as an anchor fly.

We never thought we would cut condoms up, but it's a worthy sacrifice on this killer anchor fly. It works everywhere and there's nothing better to get your flies to the bottom.
