Sorry for any inconvenience. *** More about the knots: The Knot in a Knot goes by many names such as Blood Knot, Rose Knot, and Double Overhand Knot. I call it a Knot in a Knot because that's how I learned it, and it really is a knot inside another knot. It takes practice to be able to get it right every time you go to tie it. Sometimes you'll have done everything right and it'll still look wrong. If that's the case just try moving the rope in the knot around a bit, loosening the knot then tightening it up again, until it looks like it should. The Bowline is my favorite knot in the world. I really don't know how I tied things before I learned this knot. And its great because you only need one end of a rope to tie. And if tied correctly, it can always be untied. Brilliant! However, it can be a tricky knot to get. You have two ends, a long one and a short one. In the long end, make an overhand loop.
