Pokémon Red/Blue - Gym Fishing Glitch This is a glitch in Pokémon Red/Blue. In any gym with large statues (as well as Lorelei and Lance's rooms in the Elite Four), you can use the Old Rod or Good Rod on the bottom of the statue. A Super Rod won't work; you'll get the message "Looks like there's nothing here" (as you will see). Pokémon will appear from rods and you can fight them like you would from water. You can also surf on these statues, but you will not find any wild Pokémon at all (this is not shown in this video). This doesn't work in the Saffron City gym or the Cinnibar Island gym.
