Solo Salmon fishing Filming fighting netting trolling FBR
Solo fishing for salmon while filming the fight..Not for the faint hearted. Hung into a salmon with a 40 pound mind trapped in a 18 pound body. It put a noble fight making several runs and solo netted while filming at the same time. I was using a lower FBR main rig and a FBR dropper rig. The salmon came on the dropper rig which should have been approximately half way to the bottom rig which was at 70 feet. I was 300 yards towards Hawaii from the Duzberry buoy green can near Duzberry Reef with is approximate; 9 miles from Bonita point and a bout 2.5 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. Great weather. It sure is nice to here the reel sing again. I can't believe how many Nice folks came by and said Hi today. Met a lot of folks on the water. Report one solo 18 pound salmon caught on a green FBR dropper Rig at approximately 35 feet. How the self-releasing trout catfish bass bait hook works. How the self-releasing quick out trout catfish bass bait hook works. To find out how the amazing self releasing hook works and to see the animation of release action go to http://www.sheltonproducts.com/sheltonrelease.html To find out more about my advanced fishing invention go to http://www.sheltonproducts.com To see my video movie theater with a incredible list of how to and action fishing video go to http://www.sheltonproducts.com/sheltontheater.html To see a video of the TadPole snagless weights go to http://www.sheltonproducts.com/tadpole.mov There were two hook mortality study done with them in the Eastern Sierras and sponsored by US Forest service and local business men in Mono and Inyo Counties that proof the mortality rate was equal to or less than fly fishing mortality. Since you aren't breaking off hooks in fish and with the TadPole snagless weights, not breaking off in rocks, you get in more fishing time because you are not down re-rigging so that gives you more time with your bait in the water and you improve your catch. This is especially important when you have kids, as you will not spend all of your time re-rigging them. It is especially a good feeling seeing them swim away. Berkley Power Bait and these hooks and TadPole make one of the most effective trout bait rig there is. Catch and keep, no problem, you get the hook out instantly, and catch and release couldn't be easier. Regarding self-releasing hooks. They are design to release fish without touching them. Basically how they work is the eye of the hook is at the bend of the hook and the leader line goes through a flexible plastic sleeve that goes over leader line and when the sleeve is slid down over the shank of the hook it is set and fish just like a regular fishhook. The sleeve has a second line tied to the top of this and parallels the main leader line and is attach by a sliding 3 turn uniknot tied with thread. When you slid the red knot up by pinching it or using a pocket comb it slides the sleeve up and the hook rotates and self releases. Fly Fishing for Skeena River Sockeye Salmon
I had the pleasure to fish with Jeff Langley of Terrace BC. We fished for Chinook first then decided to fly fish for Sockeye, Pinks and Steelhead. Jeff is a pro guide for Nicholas Dean Lodge. The date was Aug 5, 2007 and good runs of Sockeye and Pinks were swimming by. This clip is of a very bright Sockeye. Salmon Fishing Trip Part 2 of 9
Another video from day 1 of our salmon fishing trip with our good friend and "Fishgod", Simon (Kresketh), in the tributaries of Lake Ontario, Canada (despite Jayson's reported location). Simon has another (of many) fish on the line while my husband does the netting and some commentary and I assist with the commentary whilst filming. Yeah, Jayson and I really did catch a bunch of fish ourselves, but I can't operate the camera and reel a salmon in. ;)
