Amtrak at Old Lyme, CT Old Lyme, Connecticut is another great spot to railfan on the Northeast Corridor. A fishing pier offers great photo and video opportunities that I took advantage of on a cloudy day back in the spring of this year. Located here is an impressive bridge span that raises and lowers over the Connecticut River, undoubtedly giving Amtrak passengers a great view in either direction. Railfans often have more luck than fisherman at catching what they're after here, but there is a freindly relationship among the two groups. Just watch out for anyone casting their poles!!!
