Newport Beach Blue Whale My dad and I were coming back from a morning of fishing the local offshore banks of Newport Beach, CA, and less than 2 miles out of the harbor we came up on this beautiful Blue Whale. We saw it blow from a ways off, and she really wasn't movingtoo fast. But before we knew it, she was right off the bow. I eyed it at about thirty yards, but maybe even closer. Morning at the Beach Shot with a Canon EOS 5D MKII. Edited in iMovie. This was my first shoot with manual exposure video control. I only used the 50 F1.8 for this shoot. I am pretty pleased with the results (not the editing just the quality of the images) Youtube's compression looses a little of the quality but you should get the idea. While it may not be Vincent Laforet's first 5D MKii video its still amazing what this camera can do. Views: 107 Rating:

Thresher Shark Fishing on the Pacifica Pier , California. (Shark # 3) On August 6, 2009 I fought and landed "three" Thresher Sharks myself,,,,,,This is the most caught by one person in one day in the history of the Pacifica pier. This video is of the "first" one that I landed that day out of the "three" that I ended up catching on August 6 ,2009.
